Image of Carbine Clips

Carbine hooks also known as carbine clips are a an extremely versatile component not only used in rigging but also around the house, workshop , garden and farmyard .Carbine clips are  used as a convenient quick link for attaching ropes together or for clipping a light barrier chain to a wall. Some customers use carbine hooks as a way of preventing animals from opening gates and others simply use the small carbine hooks as a method of keeping their keys safe.

All carbine clips have the same basic design. They are constructed from very heavy gauge wire bent into the shape of the hook. Some carbine clips or snap hooks have a spring loaded catch, others have a locking nut assembly to keep the carbine hook locked. Carbine clips are available with or without an eyelet in one end which can be used to thread a rope through.

Carbine clips come in several finishes, styles and sizes. The most common sizes are: 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 16mm, 18mm, 20mm. Where the measurement refers to the diameter of the wire used to make the hook. Carbine hooks or snap hooks are available in galvanise, zinc plated or stainless steel finish.
